Structural elements— What are they?
Structures are broken down and examined more carefully to see what the functions of the different parts are. By breaking the parts down, a designer is able to analyse the functions of the various parts thereby ensuring they are doing the correct job.
Depending on the function of the various parts, special names are given to the parts namely; beams, struts, ties, brackets, stays, triangulation, gussets and redundant members. |
